What you don’t say to a Lifestyle and Nutrition Coach

I probably shouldn’t be saying this, especially as this is a post about a lifestyle and nutrition coach, but I can’t help myself. It’s my dirty secret and it’s time to come out.

In my late teens plus early, and let’s be honest, mid – late twenties, I had no consideration for my diet what so ever. I drank alcohol most nights, on the late ones I made sure there was a cheeseburger to line the stomach. You can bet I’d swing by the servo on the way to work the next morning to grab a sausage roll and a coke to dust off my cobwebs. I even smoked sometimes (please don’t tell my kids). I’m not even kidding, I feel sick thinking about it.

This was my norm and before you judge me, it was for most of my friends too. Having abs and quitting sugar wasn’t a thing yet, I promise.

Now in my mid 30’s with 3 kids and 3 businesses I have never been so desperate to find the formula to feeling good. Feeling good is everything! I need to do all I can to give me the energy and mindset to conquer each day. If that means eating nuts, chowing down on vitamins and ditching the wine (on schools nights) then so be it. I’ve never felt so aware of the relationship between what we put into our bodies and our moods, mindset and health. Oh, how I wish Kerryn existed for me 15 years ago.

Kerryn is a holistic lifestyle and nutrition coach and the founder of West Coast Wellness. What makes her so awesome is her zero judgement for unhealthy habits like mine and her realistic approach. Through diet adjustments, mindfulness and movement, she can empower you to take control of your body and connect with life in a more meaningful way.

Life has never been busier! Time management, stress reduction, good sleep and lots of energy is essential to keeping on top of that crazy schedule. It’s a great time to find a Kerryn to keep in your pocket. Which is why I invited her to sit down with us and share her secrets.

Ok, So you own your own business, why on earth did you decide to do that?

K: Even though it took me awhile to get here, I think I have always been wired as a business owner. At age 25 I met with a career coach and together we realised that most things I didn’t like about jobs I had in the past would be alleviated if I started my own business.

What do you love doing in your business the most?

K: I am sooooo damn passionate about helping women ditch the pain and suffering they experience around food and diet. We are in a time where access to information (particularly about our health) is overwhelming. Not all of us know how to differentiate the right from wrong and it’s my life’s work to empower women to take back control of what is healthy for their bodies.

Ok now whats the one thing you hate doing the most?

K: Hate is a strong word but I don’t ever seem to have the time to write blog posts and newsletters (procrastination queen!).

What makes you special? You know, stand out from the crowd? Different from everyone else doing what your doing?

K: I like to think of myself as more of a big sister to my clients. I gently encourage them to explore what works for their bodies and what is going to be sustainable in their lives. I don’t use scales to determine a person’s health and I don’t pretend to be perfect. I think being approachable and honest makes me a less intimidating practitioner.

If you had 25 words or less to sell yourself what would you say?

K: I use a holistic approach to help nurture women struggling with weight, food, eating, anxiety and body image back to their fullest happiness and health.

Kerryn is the real deal – genuine and authentic. There is no smoke and mirrors here and what you see is what you get. If you would like to take control of your health you find out more here.
