As a small business advocate, hater of popularity contests and lover of a good “underdog” success story, no one is more thrilled to see the shift in how businesses view bloggers than me. Step aside top dogs because the micro blogger in on the rise.
You can be forgiven for thinking that the bigger the fan base the more useful the blogger/influencer right? Don’t get me wrong the cool kids still have value but we have discovered similar value in engaged audiences of small – mediumish bloggers/influencers. Hence why we founded B Directory in the first place. We’re thrilled the rest of the world is catching up with this discovery.
So, why the rise of the micro blogger?
Well as the macro-blogger rose to a marketing “must have” for businesses great and small, so did the cost of using them. They became out of reach for small business and almost “too intimidating”. I’ve experienced this myself time and time again.
New research indicates that larger scale blogger/influencer campaigns can quickly reach saturation point. By engaging the services of a micro blogger you are able to market to a more engaged and specific audience. Imagine an audience you choose and hand pick as relevant to your demographic? Pretty cool huh?
Did I mention as well this is way more affordable?
So what can a micro blogger do for you?
Believe it or not but engaging the services of a blogger, big or small, isn’t all about “instant customers”. Don’t look at me like I’m crazy, I’ll explain why.
By using a blogger you have someone creating an article specifically for you for a rate often cheaper than conventional marketing methods ($100 – $300 for micro bloggers but be savvy and you might even jag an exchange of service). You’ll receive a beautiful online publication, usually with edited pictures of YOUR work for you to use as much as you like for your own marketing. This itself is worth the fee.
On top of this, anyone on the internet talking about you helps your relationship with google. Social media posts last all of 5 minutes but a blog post last forever. The right post can work in your favour for years to come. And I should know. My business is still gaining new clients almost daily from my own blog posts almost 4 years old. True story.
So not sure where to start or how to connect with an online customer? B Directory has your back.
