We’re obsessed with blogging for business. There I said it! It might make us a little strange, but we’re good with that. I am definitely coming to the realisation that we may be part of a minority on this one.

I know its a weird thing to be obsessed over but when your blog has bought you as much happiness and new customers as ours has, you’d probably feel the same way. Let me explain…..

why a blog is great for business:

  • Writing a blog is a great way to send potential customers to your website.
  • By using particular key words and phrases you have the potential to assist your website in ranking highly in the search engines.
  • A blog is a great way to share your knowledge and wisdom with the world.
  • It is an excellent tool to aid in positioning yourself as an ‘expert’ in your field.
  • This is an awesome way to build and nurture relationships with your customers.

What I have started to notice is that a lot of business owners love the idea of having a blog however, although they have great ideas, they have no interest in actually sitting down and writing it. It all seems too overwhelming. That’s where we come in.

Here at B Directory we have created a service that allows you to own and operate your own blog for your business at whatever capacity suits you. What does that mean? Well we have a whole bunch of scenarios so that you can reap the same benefits we have.

How to start a blog for your business (when you don’t want to)

  1. We write the blog for you: You come up with the ideas and we (or a copywriter sourced by us) ghost write the post for you. We do all the hard work, uploading into your site, controlling the images to ensure your branding aligns and schedule to the appropriate channels.
  2. Set up a blog on your website and write it yourself: Sounds scary right? You won’t believe this given I own an internet based business, but I am the most technically challenged person getting around. So if I can learn to write a blog, so can you. We can set it all up for you and give you a lesson and off you go.
  3. Partner with a blogger: This is the most fun and one of our loves at B Directory. Connecting with a professional blogger is a great way to have your business featured and connect with relevant potential customers. You can share the posts with your own audience, include in your email marketing and re purpose time and time again to show case your business.
  4. DIY: You may be a little tech savvy! If you feel like giving it a crack yourself, you should. We recommend using WordPress as your blog platform and there is a plethora of information available online to help you out.

Why blog over social media?

Well there’s no getting out of doing social media, that’s becoming as obligatory as paying taxes (sucks I know). Think of it this way, your social media posts are fantastic for about 5 minutes, or, as long as it takes to scroll down to the next post. A blog post, when done correctly, can work for you for years.

Why? Because we are all still googling business information. And when people google phrases that relate to your business, any articles featuring your business will help optimise your position in the search ranking.
