Oh hey there, I just wanted to let you know you’ve actually followed and then unfollowed me about 6 times already. Its getting annoying. I want you to stop.

That’s what I want to say. But i’d probably only be talking to a robot. Part of launching B Directory means, like all new businesses, starting a social media following from scratch. I’ve done it a few times over the years for our various businesses and I am definitely noticing new challenges this time around.

It’s no secret the robots are becoming an issue for Instagram hence why I believe they are cracking down on how we interact to try and eradicate some of the “fakeness”. I for one will be marching against the robots and all the fake following bandits.

So as the Co – Founder of B Directory I am without a doubt the biggest supporter of small business. That is why when you follow me, ill check to see if you are a local business and if so, ill follow you back. Because I’m supportive like that.

THEN the next day I go onto my Followers app and low and behold, you’ve Unfollowed me. But wait…… I thought we were friends?

Day after that………… oh there you are, following me again. You must’ve made a mistake. Thats ok, I’m easy going, ill give you a second chance.

Day after that………. UNFOLLLOW.

At this point I’m confused. Whats happening here?????

Follow Unfollow Follow Unfollow. Repeat.

At this point I realise, you actually couldn’t care less about me, your just trying to get your numbers up. Personally I feel used. Used and annoyed. Call me old fashioned but I stand behind authenticity and a business that endeavours to be genuine in it’s interactions and branding.

But that’s just me.
